As a pellet goes from supersonic to subsonic it becomes unstable and accuracy suffers. So if it leaves the barrel at 1200fps it will go transonic right at the distance where accuracy is important. Maybe you are better off with a rifle where the muzzle velocity is just below the speed of sound and end up with better accuracy.

just to let u no 1200 fps is 929 mph i worked this out by dividing 1200 by 3.1 to get metres then i times it by 3600 which is how many seconds in an hour then with this answer i divide it by 1500 which is how many metres in a mile a voila
the scope caps have clear plastic lenses…
well it looks funny but those caps are transparent… I had a couple of those Gamo rifles, the caps are one clear one yellow , don’t know why and I always had then removed before shooting but it was possible to shoot with them on.
LOL those are see-thru caps………One is completely clear, the other is tinted yellow, they come on cheap scopes………

heavyer pellets deliver much more energy that lighter ones.
anything in .177 that goes over 850fps get in acurate and tumbles to it slows down anyway. for better of with a .22 at about 15ft/lbs
instead of breaking the barrel and compressing a spring. it have an air tank. so when you cock the bolt. put a pellet in and then close it when fired the air comes from the tank. this means theres no recoil it’s quicker to reload and cos your not breaking the barrel there more acurate. bad ponts are thats they cost more (mine was £500) and you need a scuba tank (£120) and you limited shot before recharging e.g 120 shot at full power. but they are (in my veiw) far better.
supposedly anything over 900fps loses accuracy anyhow. pba certainly go faster than that
what is meant by pcp rifle? I’ve heard the .22 whisper air venturi is a good rifle. you not agree with that? i’m just learning about air rifles. thx
